Front End / Flex
Overview
With a suite of more than 5 iOS, Android, Desktop and Progressive Web Applications, this role will require someone with plenty of experience in modern build tools and JavaScript frameworks. We use tools like Electron and Cordova in order to leverage the same web stack and augment their capability as applications, allowing them to interface with users’ file systems and hardware. To bring consistency across all these properties we’ve written our own bootstrap to handle fonts, styling, iconography, and components.
Our audience will vary greatly in fluency so user testing will be an important part of this role. We strive for the Borderless Experience to be as frictionless as possible so anything we can do to identify pitfalls or challenges in user flow and improve them will be essential.
The “flex” in this job title refers to your ability to understand and interface with some backend technologies like express and socket.io which serve as a bridge to hardware, file systems and databases.
Daily Responsibilities
- Attend daily stand-ups
- Stub out and create new features
- Maintain existing features
- Testing and refinement
- Work closely with Art Directors and Designers to execute their designs for the web and apps.
